(March) Architect: Victor Gruen. Designed in the Modernist style, it is located at 10 Emerson Place. Built as part of the West End urban renewal plan, it is the first building in the complex that eventually contains 2,280 units, most in the “Towers in the Park” concept championed by le Corbusier. In addition to the apartment buildings, the complex subsequently include a 10-story office building, movie theater, retail stores, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.
